Approval of proposal to amend the terms of listing for bimatoprost, brimonidine tartrate with timolol maleate and prednisolone acetate
PHARMAC is pleased to announce the approval of an agreement with Allergan Australia Pty Ltd for four ophthalmological products. This proposal was the subject of a consultation letter dated 14 September 2011 which is available on our website at: http://www.pharmac.govt.nz/2011/09/14/2011-09. In summary, the effect of the decision is that: There will be a reduction in the price and subsidy for bimatoprost (Lumigan) eye drops from 1 January 2012 with subsidy and delisting protection until 30 June 2015. A confidential rebate will apply. Brimonidine tartrate with timolol maleate (Combigan) eye drops will have subsidy and delisting protection until 30 June 2015. A confidential rebate will apply. Prednisolone acetate (Pred Mild and Pred Forte) will have subsidy and delisting protection until 30 June 2015.
Details of the proposal Bimatoprost (Lumigan) The price and subsidy for Lumigan in Section B of the Pharmaceutical Schedule will be reduced from 1 January 2012 as follows (ex-manufacturer, exclusive of GST):

Brimonidine tartrate with timolol maleate (Combigan) Combigan will remain fully funded in Section B of the Pharmaceutical Schedule at the current price and subsidy (ex-manufacturer, exclusive of GST):
