Approval of proposal to amend the terms of listing for efavirenz (Stocrin)
PHARMAC is pleased to announce the approval of an agreement with Merck Sharp and Dohme (New Zealand) Limited (MSD) for efavirenz (Stocrin). This was the subject of a consultation letter dated 22 September 2011. In summary, the effect of the decision is that: From 1 January 2012, Stocrin will remain listed in Section B of the Pharmaceutical Schedule at the following prices and subsidies (ex-manufacturer, excluding GST):

Stocrin Stocrin
Stocrin will remain funded in the community subject to the Special Authority currently applying to all antiretrovirals; From 1 January 2012 a rebate will apply to all community dispensings of Stocrin reducing the net price to the funder; and Stocrin will have subsidy and delisting protection until subsidy and delisting protection until 30 June 2015.
